Direct from the mangrove swamps of Steel City Newcastle comes the Blues Bombers. Conjured up with some serious coal-face voodoo by Australia's giant of the Boogie Bass 'Gravelmouth' Mick King Jr, the bombers feature the best swing.blues.swamp.rock'n'roll musicians in the country. Josh 'Fingers' Callaway on keys, Dave 'Killer' Hooper on guitar & Kerry Miller on drums. BLACK HAT BAND (ACT) 4 piece to 6 piece with horn section.
Rollicking blues, R 'n B classics, soul

Donned with black hats, this band get the room going with their brand of blues performing some great versions of the classics to the more unusual. The BLACK HAT BAND is one of the Canberra Regions preeminent rock, rhythm, soul and blues shows. A wide variety of blues, rock, soul and funk tunes by artists such as Gary Moore, Pinetop Perkins, John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite, Robben Ford, ACDC and Jimmy Witherspoon to name a few. The foundation of BHB is David Grey on guitar and vocals and Derek Lark on harmonica, percussion and backing vocals. Our current line up also includes Tom Fell on sax, Cameron Smith on trumpet, Jon Nourse on percussion and Peter Barta on bass. Great for pub, club and party gigs.

The year also saw the band play support to legendary acts, Screaming J Hawkins and Buddy Guy as well as having their song "Werewolf Baby" nominated for a A.R.I.A. Award after being covered by Sydney personality Doug Mulray. In 1996 Louis King and combo continued making inroads by playing shows around the country including their first East Coast Blues Festival.
